The news that the death of Sam Inokoba a former Peoples
Democratic Party Chairman in Bayelsa state slumped and died at the Lagos home
of former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC Mr.
Timi Alaibe has been debunked.
The news which filtered in as a rumour but has has raised
dust in the state with most residents of the state accusing the PDP of being
behind the death.
But a an online news medium allegedly sponsored by the
state’s media team have come up with allegations that the former PDP chair died
at the Lagos home of Timi Alaibe as a result of heated arguments with the
deceased over the issue of the governorship bid of the latter. The report also
alleged that the late ex PDP Chair had at the meeting rejected the 200 million
naira given to him to step down before his death.
But in an interview with an aide of Timi Alaibe Mr. Nwokoma
Ndu said the allegation was a baseless,
malicious and a wicked one coming from a drowning government. The aide said
Timi Alaibe has been in Abuja all week. “How can somebody who has been in Abuja
all week suddenly appear in Lagos for a ghost meeting? It is evident from the
hate stories emanating from the pro PDP media in the state that they want to
look for every opportunity to nail Mr. Alaibe due to their fear that he will
beat the governor in the December elections if he gets the APC nomination” he
told our reporter.
The aide said the same PDP propaganda machine had before now
accused the guber aspirant of name dropping the president’s name to raise money.
He also said the same PDP apparatchik came up with another allegation that he
offered the former Governor of the state Timi Sylva 5 billion naira to get the
party nomination. “How can a man they described as broke suddenly be offering
huge money? How far will they go in their bid to bring down the personality of
Timi Alaibe?” the aide queried.
He warned Nigerians especially Bayelsa people to be wary of
such wicked propaganda from the Bayelsa state government which is born out of
mischief. He said no matter the blackmail against the former Presidential
Adviser on Niger Delta matters, he will still clinch the party nomination and
will surely kick out the underperforming and blackmailing governor Dickson out
of power.
